About this workshop
In this hands-on woodworking class, you’ll create a custom cheese slicer board using maple and padauk hardwoods and the Rockler Cheese Slicer Hardware Kit of your choice. You’ll learn fundamental woodworking techniques as you glue, flatten, shape, sand, finish, and assemble a functional kitchen project. The completed board will measure approximately 8" x 11" x ¾".
What You’ll Do:
Purchase your preferred Rockler cheese slicer hardware kit when signing in for the class
Glue up your board using precut maple and padauk hardwood strips and Rockler’s Mini Deluxe Panel Clamps
Flatten both sides of the board using a drum sander
Square both ends and cut the slicing kerf using a Festool Kapex Miter Saw
Drill the mounting hole required for the cheese slicer hardware
Round over the board’s edges using a trim router
Shape and sand the edges, corners, and surfaces using tools such as a bandsaw or jigsaw, spindle or belt sanders, and Rockler sanding tools
Do a final sanding and mount the optional non-slip rubber feet
Install your purchased Rockler Cheese Slicer Hardware Kit
