Tue, Nov 10 · Mallard Creek Recreation Center

About this class

A free bi-weekly meetup for postpartum moms & their babies to connect, reflect, and find support through music, conversation, and community.

A Soft Return: Music Therapy for Postpartum Moms is a free, bi-weekly program designed to support caregivers and their infants through restorative and intentional community. The program provides a calm, informal, welcoming space where postpartum caregivers can engage with peers and experience the therapeutic benefits of music with the option of doing so alongside their babies.

Each 60-minute session is led by a lead facilitator and supported by musicians, providing live, interactive music, optional guided movement, infant-directed musical play, and reflective exercises for caregivers.

Scheduled for late mornings, typical postpartum routines, including feeding, nap times, and self-care, and fluid participation are welcome.

The program is designed for adult caregivers with infants approximately 0–12 months, providing age-appropriate musical engagement, developmental stimulation, and bonding.

The physical environment is intentionally designed for comfort, a listening-experience, and sensory support.

Caregivers are encouraged to bring familiar comfort items (floor mats/yoga mats or bolsters) if desired, however, ample chair seating is available.

Meets up will take place at Mallard Creek Recreation Center (2nd & 4th Tuesdays at 10:30AM-11:30AM) Featured musicians and/creatives include:

Oct 13: Lana & Victor of Handpan Vibe

Oct 27: Sound Healing with Amara of MotherWholistic Healings

Nov 10: Sound Healing with Ana Lucia Divins

Nov 24: Sound Healing with Ana Lucia Divins

Dec 8: Sound Healing with Amara of MotherWholistic Healings

Dec 22: Lana & Victor of Handpan Vibe

By combining small-group engagement, structured musical activities, and restorative facilitation, A Soft Return strengthens both individual resilience and community connection. Caregivers leave each session feeling supported, seen, and empowered, with a sense of calm and connection to a broader network of community and creative resources.
