Hej Charlotte Urban Sketchers, Do you enjoy sketching, meatballs, and/or flatpack furniture? Join us for a group sketch at IKEA! There’s no shortage of places to sketch from observation at this Swedish home furnishings superstore. Grab a coffee and settle in to sketch the cafeteria, or head to the showroom and discover a decorated roomset to draw. Like all Urban Sketchers Charlotte group sketch outings, this is an uninstructed, FREE event that's open to everyone. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned professional, you'll love sketching with USKCharlotte because you'll practice drawing from life, meet other artists, and explore a unique corner of Charlotte/Scandinavia! Order of events: 11:00am - Meet and greet inside IKEA entrance lobby on the first floor near the escalator 11:10am-12:45am - Explore, find a spot, sketch! 12:45am-1:00pm - Regroup in the entrance lobby for a sketchbook throw down (an informal, fun group discussion) Parking: There’s a gigantic parking lot in front of IKEA - it will be easy to find a spot! Things to bring: - something to sketch with (pencil, pen, watercolor paint, reed stylus, etc.) - something to sketch on (sketchbook, loose leaf paper, whiteboard, mesopotamian clay tablet, etc.) Optional: a portable stool Questions?
